My November Favorites

We’re a week away from Thanksgiving and I couldn’t be any more grateful. November has been a month full of self-discovery and rainy nights curled up on my couch. Now that October is over, I have fewer favorites to look forward to as fall ends. However, I did want to share some of my remaining fall favorites that November has offered me.

Coffee shop and rainy days.

I love sitting at my local coffee shop sipping hot cocoa while staring dreamily out the window at the wet jungle outside. Rain has always comforted me. I grew up in Washington state, which practically drowns you in rain. Since I moved to California, experiencing rain is a limiting experience. It can rain a few months out of the year or not at all. Yet somehow, when it does rain, I am always filled with nostalgia of my childhood and with an irresistible urge to cozy up on my couch and watch a really good movie.

Wine nights and Netflix binges

One of my monthly favorites, especially during the rainy nights in November, is to open a bottle of white wine and binge watch a favorite show on Netflix. I have been recently introduced to the world of Hulu, so this month I have been faithfully committing myself to binge-watching some older shows that I enjoyed in the past.

My current choice of wine is Target’s newest brand: California Roots, I personally like the Moscato the most because it is the sweetest out of the brand's selection.

Delicious warm desserts.

I love November, well the fall season in general, because I get to indulge in some not so healthy desserts.

Last month, in October, I had pumpkin pie in honor of my birthday. But this month, in addition to what will be a part of my Thanksgiving meal, I have been treating my taste buds to some lava cakes from Trader Joes. I love the Trader Joes brand of lava cakes because they are super easy to heat up in the microwave and taste like they are fresh out of the oven! I love pairing them with strawberries, or blueberries to add a bit of tart taste to the richness of the gooey chocolate.

Riverdale, The Gifted, and The Shannara Chronicles

While all three of these shows started in October, they are shows that I am obsessed with this month.

I love the nostalgia that Riverdale brings in its intimate ties to the old Archie, Betty and Veronica comics. While it has intense moments,  the show gives viewers a refreshing take on high school.

The Gifted is a continuation of the X-men series, and you already know that my nerdy side is currently geeking out. The first episode blew me away, and 7 episodes later, I just keep wanting more. It is a fast-paced drama that gives X-men movie fans a deeper understanding of its’ universe.

The Shannara Chronicles is an intense fantasy with amazingly steamy actors. I watched season 1 on MTV but it was bought and renewed by Spike. Thankfully season 2 stayed true to season 1's style. The newest addition to the cast, Vanessa Morgan, is an amazing actress and coincidentally crosses over into my other favorite show Riverdale as Toni Topaz.

The Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton.

This is on my reading list for November. I have just started it, so I will do an additional review on it, but it is already tugging at my heart-strings. This book hits close to home because of her struggle in her marriage and her journey through self-discovery.

Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated.

This was a huge highlight for November. I watched this documentary last week and it opened up my eyes. I have always been a huge fan of Demi Lovato and grew up watching her act in multiple Disney shows. I didn’t realize how much I had in common with her until I watched this documentary. I will also be doing a separate review of this in the future. But this documentary was a very intimate peek into the life of a very successful child star and her growth into adulthood.

I hope to enjoy the rest of this month with good food and even better wine. Do you have any favorite things from this month? Leave a comment below!
