How to Deal With Failure

Life With Michele Renee How to Deal With Failure

Sometimes life just doesn’t go our way. When that happens, we can find ourselves failing at almost everything we attempt to do. Despite what society tells us, failure is okay. It is a necessary part of our growth. Failure allows for us to evolve into a better version of ourselves.

I have dealt with a lot of failures this past year. But one thing that I have noticed is that I am only wiser because of it. I have come to look at failure as a means of obtaining experience.

Failure in itself is a learning experience

Failure helps us to react better or differently to certain situations. Failure can even be considered a life experience.

One of the biggest failures I have experienced this past year was focusing too much on others’ expectations for me. This hindered me in so many ways, including putting me in a place where I felt hopeless and unworthy.

Due to this I felt depressed almost every day and filled with relentless anxiety. But I still managed to have the desire to succeed.

Despite the extremely negative experience, I am grateful for any failure I have experienced, as it made me wake up and become more determined to do what I felt was necessary for me (not what others’ thought was best).

Over the past year, I have gathered some tools and tips in order to not travel back to a dark place every time I experienced a failure.

Find Someone Relatable

The best thing to do when you experience a failure or feel like you are failing is to find someone who has been through the same or a similar situation.

Learn from them. Find out what they did to overcome their struggle and try to apply that to your own obstacles.

Keep Reminders

When you feel like you failed, remind yourself to keep trying. No one influential got to where they are if they never tried again.

The whole point of living your best life, or even to be a better person is to keep trying. If you give up the minute you fail, you could lose out on growing into the person you were meant to be.

Give yourself a break

No empire was built in a day, and neither is your success. Good things take hard work and time. If you keep working hard and don’t see results, then take a break.

Find something that fills you with joy and passion, and immerse yourself in that for a bit until you can regain your determination. Then get back into the game.

Remind yourself that you are worthy of success. You are worthy of all the good things that life has to offer you. Never forget that.

Never give up!

I know I keep reiterating this, but it is extremely important to remember. Do not give up on trying to succeed. The more you fail, the more you learn, and the better you can be the next time you try.

If you give up on success then you are giving up on yourself.

That is not to say that if you lose interest in something, you should keep doing it.

Quite the opposite. If you are passionate about something, keep working hard to succeed in that passion.

Yet if you lose interest, you have the right to walk away because there will always be something else out there that will catch your interest.

Failure has always been considered a negative concept, but if you think about it, it really doesn’t have to be. Failure is an essential element of our growth as humans and more specifically as an individual.

If we never fail then how would we know what methods work best for us? Go ahead and fail at a few things, learn from your mistakes, and try again. You are worthy of success.
